Will a faster charger damage my phone?
No. With USB-C Power Delivery (PD), the phone and charger agree how much power to use, so your phone only takes what it can handle. A more powerful charger is safe and can also charge a tablet or laptop.
To get the full speed, the cable matters too. Most USB-C cables carry up to 60W. Faster charging needs a cable rated for 100W or 240W.
